What we carry
About our rugs
We source our rugs directly from manufacturers in Pakistan, India, and Turkey, three of the world’s great hand-knotting traditions. For many years we also bought from Iran, until the embargo closed that door. The relationships we built then still shape what we look for today: tight, even knots, natural fibers, and honest dyes.
Almost every rug in our collection is hand-knotted. That means each knot is tied by hand around the warp threads. A weaver completes a few thousand knots a day, and a sizable rug can take months to finish. The result is a piece that lays flat, wears for generations, and shows the maker’s hand in subtle variations across the field.
A smaller selection is handloom, woven on a foot-powered loom rather than tied knot-by-knot. Handloom pieces are softer underfoot, more affordable, and a good fit for casual rooms or high-traffic areas where you want the look of natural fibers without the investment of a fully hand-knotted piece.
Because we work directly with our weavers, our margins stay tight on purpose. That is how we deliver the best quality for the price.
